I am pleased to announce that I am seeking the nomination of the Libertarian Party to be its candidate for U.S. Representative in Congress for the 6th District of Michigan. I look forward to challenging Rep. Debbie Dingell, the incumbent holder of the hereditary Dingell seat in the House of Representatives, which has been occupied by a member of the Dingell family since 1933.
The failures of the Congress to provide proper leadership are so numerous that I will touch on just a few of them now.
The federal government is approximately $35 TRILLION in debt, which is increasing by the hour. This congress is nonchalantly selling future generations of Americans into debt slavery. We must immediately enact deep and painful cuts in federal spending.
Suspend all foreign aid expenditures until Congress passes a balanced budget. This means defunding Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, etc., etc.
Reorient military spending to the defense of the United States and away from maintaining a worldwide economic and political empire. We can slash the Pentagon budget without compromising the security of the USA. Let’s close foreign bases and bring our troops home. Stop creating wars and killing people all over the world. End the coups, assassinations and regime change operations being carried out with U.S. taxpayer funds.
Congress is completely derelict in its responsibility to reform immigration laws. We must make it easier for immigrants to come here legally, yet prevent unchecked illegal immigration.
Eliminate the Department of Education— return responsibility for education to families, localities and the States. Stop entrapping students in massive mountains of debt through the federally-guaranteed student loan program.
We, the People, must take back control of our government from the special interests who so adroitly promote their own wealth and power at the expense of the American people. President Eisenhower, in his farewell address to the nation, warned of the corrupting influence of the Military Industrial Complex (MIC). The hour is late, we must heed his warning and take action before we lose the United States forever.
